Camp Everywhere

Introducing Camp Everywhere

Camp Everywhere is a tech-free, minimal supervision camp to help kids master their surroundings and navigate their worlds through independent exploration and kids-only missions.

Camp Everywhere is the antidote to boring, expensive summer camps and will quickly become their favorite week of summer.

About Camp Everywhere

At Camp Everywhere, kids will:

✓ Hone their sense of direction and buff up their street smarts by finding their own way to places.
✓ Learn to improvise if plans change.
✓ Cooperate and compromise with their peers to make decisions based on what is best for the group.
✓ Explore freely and follow their curiosity without a fixed agenda.

Who is Camp Everywhere?

Camp Everywhere campers are children aged 8 – 12 years old. No independent experience necessary!

Camp Everywhere “Director” is Liz Hunter. Learn about Liz here >

Camp Everywhere counselors are high-school or college-aged students who will assist at home base.

Where is Camp Everywhere?

Camp Everywhere starts and ends every day at “home base.”

Meeting Address: 6740 9th Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98117

During the camp day, kids will take off from home base for missions that will require them to walk around the neighborhood. Kids may choose to take the bus on certain missions.

Proficiency with a bicycle on city streets is helpful but not required. Biking may only be part of the mission if every kid is comfortable on the road. If the campers decide to bike, each child must have a well-fitted helmet and plan on doing the ABCQ’s of biking: air, brakes, chain, quick-release.

Things to Know

Camp Everywhere is free, but kids will be expected to either bring or buy their own lunch. Kids should also bring some form of money for incidentals: snacks, admission fees, etc.

Camp Everywhere is tech-free. No phones, watches, electronic devices, or otherwise Internet or GPS-connected devices.

Yes, this means watches and AirTags. Kids can leave them safe and sound at Home Base and retrieve them at the end of the mission.

Kids will take a Jitterbug phone on missions for emergencies and to communicate if plans change. Jitterbug phones can only call and text. Camp director will remain available for contact throughout each mission.
